A series of training programmes launch next week to help the UK travel trade prepare for the growing number of Chinese tourists.
Capela Training is offering a range of courses to the UK inbound travel industry in welcoming Chinese visitors.
“The Chinese are coming,” said Capela Training MD Gary Grieve.
“The UK lags behind the rest of Europe in volume so far but this is already changing.
“Since the Olympics London is firmly on the Chinese tourism map and repeat visitors are venturing further and wider across the nation.”
A ‘Chinese Tourist Welcome’ package is available to individuals, businesses and destinations through online or face-to-face training.
It has been designed in conjunction with the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI).
COTRI Director Professor Wolfgang Arlt said: “As more and more Chinese travel, market segments evolve and sophisticated guests from China are seeking more unique experiences, niche tailored products and less-travelled destinations.
“Companies and organisations need to learn how to treat these tourists and to communicate to the Chinese market their readiness for the biggest international tourism market in the world.”
