CIM Diploma in Tourism Marketing 2008-2010
Why did you choose to study the CIM Diploma in Tourism Marketing?
I chose to study this particular course because I always enjoyed studying marketing on my degree course and I saw the CIM course as a stepping stone into getting more experience in marketing and with the tourism related content it directly relates to the industry I work in. I currently work in the product department but would eventually like to take on a more marketing related role in the future.
Was the Capela course what you expected?
Yes and more. The distance learning concept worked very well for me. The intense two day tutorials heavily prepare you for completing the assignment that you can prepare in your own time and you always have tutors willing to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. You do need the will power and motivation to get on with the work because you’re not constantly supervised but you realise why you are doing this and it just clicks.
What impact has this qualification had on your career or ability to carry out your job?
Studying for the course made me think more about what marketing activities we could achieve as a company and I have made some recommendations that have been taken on board. I hope to be more involved in the marketing activities of the company in the future as opportunities arise.
Any further comments?
I highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to develop their marketing skills. The tutors are highly experienced and very supportive and are always there to offer help and advice even after the course is complete. It is also a good networking opportunity as you spend a lot of time in tutorials with like minded people from all areas of the industry.
