English Riviera: CIM Case Study
Brand Development Executive,
English Riviera Tourism Company
CIM Diploma in Tourism Marketing 2009-2010
Why did you choose to study the CIM Diploma in Tourism Marketing?
I had been working in tourism marketing for a couple of years and had practical experience, but wanted to cement that with a relevant qualification to provide me with the theoretical base. I chose this particular course for the module combinations and the reputation of Capela, with the intention of helping me improve my output in my current role and improve career development opportunities.
Was the Capela course what you expected?
Yes, the course was excellent, covering the basics of marketing with a specific tourism angle. It was great to meet like-minded students and network and I enjoyed travelling up to London for the tutorials.
What impact has this qualification had on your career or ability to carry out your job?
The course has given me a lot more confidence in my work and has helped me to secure a new position within the company.
Any further comments?
Overall I am really pleased with the experience and knowledge that the tutors provided me and of course very happy with my grades* – thanks to everyone involved!
