CIM Diploma in Tourism Marketing 2009-2010

Why did you choose to study the CIM Diploma in Tourism Marketing?
My marketing background is primarily B2B, with some consumer experience, but when I joined the Museum I was new to the tourism industry which seemed to have its own unique challenges. Turning to the Chartered Institute of Marketing was the logical choice as their qualifications are recognised world wide. When I joined the CIM I was really impressed with the amount of information I could access through their website.

Was the Capela course what you expected?
The course provided practical information that I could implement straight away at work. I was able to base my assignments on real situations at the Museum which helped me to understand and recall the theory.

To be honest, I found the course a bit daunting to start off with as I hadn’t studied for over 12 years, but all the tutors were excellent at running tutorials and breaking the information down into manageable chunks. It was great to meet other like-minded people who all shared similar situations and/or work pressures.

What impact has this qualification had on your career or ability to carry out your job?
The CIM Diploma in Tourism Marketing has boosted my confidence in the workplace and given me a thorough understanding of the industry.

Any further comments?
I would recommend this course to anyone wishing to improve their marketing skills in the tourism industry. All of the tutors at Capela Travel Training have a wealth of practical experience and are there to ensure you achieve the highest possible results.
