Why did you choose to study this particular CIM Marketing Diploma?
Because the course content was specifically aligned with the major aspects of my previous job role as a Marketing Executive for St Helena Tourism. The course included modules that were tailored for individuals wanting to develop specific marketing skills and knowledge in the hospitality and tourism fields. Additionally, I chose this course to prepare myself for setting up my own tourism/marketing business in the near future.

Was the Capela course what you expected?
It exceeded my expectations because of its flexibility, and immense individual support. I was undertaking a full-time position when I applied for this course, and I completed module 1 during full time work, but still found it manageable due to the organisation and devotion of the Capela team in helping me to get through it. Even after I left my job for a big travelling adventure, I was able to pick it up again after a whole year break. The Capela team knew that I wanted to finish the course even if my travelling plans meant that it would take a while to complete it. They always kept in touch and informed me of the upcoming modules and any other useful information concerning the course. When I re-commenced the course in Switzerland, again, the support was fantastic. Karen was there to answer all of my questions, and Gary provided the most valuable feedback on assignments.

What impact has this qualification had on your career or ability to carry out your job?
Having a better knowledge of consumer behaviour from the very first module, I was able to effectively apply this when my job involved marketing research and planning. The course gave me more confidence in the strategic planning side of my job and I felt I was contributing more in decision making processes. I can comfortably say that I feel a lot more confident in pursuing future marketing or tourism management roles. This course has also made me more confident in setting up my own marketing/tourism related business in the future.

Any further comments?
I highly recommend Capela Training for anyone who is considering working in the tourism industry in a marketing related role. Based on my experience with them, I am confident that you will be guided, encouraged and supported from start to finish.
